Additional information

Lucius Livineius Regulus served as one of the moneyers active in 42 BC, a year defined by the political fallout following Caesar's assassination two years prior. The Second Triumvirate had consolidated minting authority, and moneyers operating under that arrangement enjoyed considerably less independence than their Republican predecessors — their names on the coinage more a nod to tradition than any genuine autonomy.

RRC 494/30 places this issue within a tightly catalogued group. The Livineia gens is sparsely documented in the numismatic record, making Regulus one of its few representatives to leave a coin-based trace at all.
