Obverse description Veiled and wreathed laureate head of Julius Caesar facing right, rendered in high relief with sharply defined facial features characteristic of late Republican portraiture. The effigy displays Caesar's characteristic aquiline profile, with a laurel wreath adorning his head and a veil draped from the crown — iconographic attributes evoking both his pontifical dignity and his unprecedented dictatorial authority. The encircling legend CAESAR DICT•PERPETVO reads from lower left to upper right, divided across the field by the portrait, proclaiming his appointment as Dictator in Perpetuity. The flan is slightly irregular and shows typical hammered fabric, with the legend partially weak at the periphery due to striking pressure distribution.
