Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Juba II facing right, with finely rendered curly hair and a short beard characteristic of the king's portraiture. The effigy displays a pronounced profile in the Hellenistic royal tradition, with the diadem clearly visible above the forehead. The Latin legend REX•IVBA is arranged in the right field, reading downward alongside the portrait. A beaded border encircles the design. The style reflects the blending of Roman numismatic convention with the Mauretanian royal iconography of the early 1st century AD.
