Reverse description A crocodile rendered in profile advancing to the right, its body depicted with characteristic scaly texture rendered through careful punching of the die, occupying the central field. The treatment of the crocodile is naturalistic and detailed, with articulated legs, a ridged dorsal spine, and a long tapering tail. A dotted border frames the upper portion of the field. The Greek legend KΛЄOΠATPA appears in the lower exergual area, identifying Cleopatra Selene, co-ruler and consort of Juba II, and the crocodile likely alludes to her Egyptian Ptolemaic ancestry.
