Obverse description The obverse presents a janiform double bust, depicting two male heads facing in opposite directions — left and right — in the archaic manner associated with the god Janus. Between the two heads, a small figure of Victory or a winged deity is rendered in low relief, appearing to stand or hover above the shared neck, a distinctive iconographic feature of this restitution type. The busts are rendered in a plain, unadorned style consistent with archaising Republican imagery, without legend on this face. The workmanship reflects the hammered technique of the Roman Imperial period, with the design occupying the full field of the flan.
