Reverse description Two figures in dynamic combat at center: a Roman soldier, advancing to the right, engages a kneeling enemy warrior in a scene of martial triumph. The soldier is depicted in military attire, raising a weapon, while the defeated figure kneels in submission before a large oval shield. The composition closely follows iconographic conventions of Republican denarii associated with Q. Minucius Thermus, whose original issue (circa 103 BC) this Trajanic restitution reproduces. A circular Latin legend surrounds the scene, reading IMP CAES TRAIAN AVG GER DAC P P REST, with Q THERM M F inscribed in the lower exergual field. The die work, though derivative of a much earlier prototype, retains the vigorous, narrative quality of late Republican engraving.
