Above the horse, stylized vegetation or trophy elements are rendered in an abstract Celtic manner, and a string of pellets appears near the rider. The inscription LAES ROMA is placed in the lower exergual area in a debased Latin script, reflecting the Celtic imitation of Roman Republican denarius types. The overall composition shows vigorous movement characteristic of La Tène artistic tradition. |
