Reverse description The personification of Tranquillitas (Tranquility) stands in a frontal pose, turning to the left, clad in a long flowing stola. She holds an upright sceptre in her right hand and rests her left arm upon a column, a compositional device conveying stability and calm governance. The figure is rendered in the elegant classicizing style typical of Hadrianic reverse types. The reverse legend arcs above and around the field, identifying both the allegorical figure and Hadrian's third consulship. The exergue is plain.
