| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, viewed from the rear. The portrait exhibits the characteristic curly hair and short beard associated with Hadrian's later coinage. The imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery in Latin capitals. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered silver issues of the period. |
