| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristic beard and naturalistic portraiture typical of Hadrianic coinage. The effigy presents the emperor with a wreath of laurel leaves encircling his head, and drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan in well-spaced Latin capitals. The die work reflects the refined engraving style of the Rome mint during the late Hadrianic period. |
