| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with the emperor's characteristic short beard rendered in fine relief, viewed from the rear or side. The effigy displays Hadrian's distinctive physiognomy with carefully articulated facial features and elaborately modelled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The paludamentum drapes over the left shoulder, with folds rendered in a naturalistic Hadrianic style. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed around the obverse field. The flan shows minor edge irregularity typical of hand-struck Roman imperial silver coinage of this period. |
