Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with short curly hair and close-cropped beard rendered in the classicizing Hellenistic style characteristic of his reign. The bust is draped and cuirassed, truncated at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed evenly around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the refined die-cutting typical of the Rome mint under Hadrian, with strong relief and naturalistic modelling of the facial features.

Obverse lettering HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P
(Translation: Hadrian, emperor, consul for the third time, father of the nation.)
Reverse description The Emperor Hadrian stands facing left in military dress, extending his right hand to raise the kneeling personification of Hispania, who reaches upward toward him while holding an olive branch in her left hand. A rabbit, the emblematic animal of the Iberian Peninsula in Roman iconography, is depicted between the two figures at ground level. The reverse legend RESTITVTORI HISPANIAE arcs around the upper field, commemorating Hadrian's celebrated visit to the province of Hispania circa AD 122–123 and his role as its restorer and benefactor.
