| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic realism including the emperor's distinctive short curled beard and hair. The portrait displays fine die-cutting typical of the early Hadrianic period, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The imperial legend is arranged in a continuous arc around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border. |

The abbreviated legend LIB PVB appears in the field to either side of the central figure at mid-height, while the fuller titulature P M TR P COS III is distributed around the outer periphery of the flan. The composition is balanced and classically proportioned, reflecting the high artistic standards of the Roman Imperial mint under Hadrian. |
