| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Hadrian facing right, depicted with short curly hair and a neatly trimmed beard, the characteristic Hadrianic portrait style introduced early in his reign. The emperor is shown draped at the shoulder, with finely rendered facial features conveying imperial authority. The circumferential legend reads IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, distributed around the bust in capital Latin lettering. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the period. The portrait exhibits strong die-cutting with good relief, consistent with early Hadrianic mint production at Rome. |
