| Reverse description | The personification of Iustitia (Justice) is depicted seated left on a high-backed throne, rendered in fine drapery cascading over her legs. In her extended right hand she holds a patera, and in her left hand a sceptre rests vertically against her shoulder. The figure is portrayed with serene composure, evoking the imperial virtue of justice central to Hadrian's early principate. The abbreviated Latin legend P M TR P COS II arcs across the upper field, while the word IVSTITIA appears in the exergue below the figure, identifying the personification. The composition is well-centred for a hammered issue, with the reverse type occupying the majority of the flan. |
