Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with the bust viewed from the rear, showing the paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder. The emperor's characteristic short beard and close-cropped hair are rendered in the naturalistic Hadrianic style. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular, typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the period.

Reverse description The personification of Liberalitas stands facing left in the field, draped in a long stola, holding a cornucopia in her left arm while her right hand extends forward, the figure rendered in the classical allegorical style typical of Hadrianic imperial coinage. The composition commemorates one of Hadrian's public distributions of largesse to the Roman citizenry. The encircling legend occupies the upper and lower periphery of the flan. The reverse field shows significant wear consistent with circulation.
