Reverse description The personification of Liberalitas stands facing left, draped in a long chiton, holding an abacus (counting board) in her right hand and a cornucopiae in her left arm. The figure is rendered in the round, with fine drapery folds rendered in shallow relief characteristic of Hadrianic coinage. The encircling legend LIBERALITAS AVG is distributed in the upper field, with COS III appearing in the lower exergual area below the figure. A dotted border frames the design. The type commemorates one of Hadrian's public distributions of largesse to the Roman people, celebrated during his third consulship.
