| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with a short beard characteristic of his portraiture, draped at the shoulder. The effigy displays finely rendered hair with layered curls beneath the laurel wreath, reflecting the high-quality die engraving typical of the Rome Mint under Hadrian. The circular Latin legend HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS runs around the periphery. The flan shows the slightly irregular shape common to hammered silver coinage of the period. |
