| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and short beard in the Hellenic style adopted by the emperor. The portrait exhibits strong, naturalistic modeling typical of Hadrianic court engraving. The encircling Latin legend is divided around the bust within a beaded border. No laurel wreath is present, the head being bare — an iconographic choice reflecting Hadrian's philhellenic affectations. |
