| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and short beard in the Hellenistic tradition favored by this emperor. The effigy is depicted with considerable naturalistic detail, the laurel wreath clearly articulated atop the head. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan, which displays the characteristic irregular outline of a hand-struck Roman denarius of the Trajanic-Hadrianic period. |

| Reverse description | The personification of Clementia, goddess of mercy and leniency, depicted as a draped female figure standing left in a dignified contrapposto pose. She extends her right hand forward holding a patera for libation, while her left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The figure is rendered in the classical Roman style with flowing drapery falling to her feet. A beaded border frames the design, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the field. |
