| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and short beard, both hallmarks of his portraiture. The effigy displays a naturalistic, high-relief sculptural style consistent with Hadrianic coinage of the Roman Imperial period. The paludamentum (military cloak) is visible at the truncation, fastened at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, disposed around the portrait within a beaded border. |
