Obverse description Bare-headed and bearded bust of Jupiter facing left, depicted to the shoulders in a bold, archaic style characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian coinage. The god is shown unadorned, without diadem or laurel wreath, his mature visage rendered with heavy features. The right hand is raised and extended, levelling a thunderbolt — Jupiter's divine attribute — toward the left. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend, the obverse design occupying the full flan.
