| Obverse description | Bare head of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered with pronounced naturalistic portraiture characteristic of the Julio-Claudian and early Flavian tradition, depicting the aged emperor with deeply lined features and close-cropped hair. The laureate wreath is visible atop the head. The circumferential legend reads GALBA IMPERATOR, distributed around the periphery of the flan in incuse Latin capitals. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief against a flat field, consistent with Rome Mint production of the short-lived Galban coinage of AD 68–69. |
