Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in high relief with strong, naturalistic portraiture characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian die-cutting. The emperor's aged features — including a pronounced jaw, deep-set eyes, and short neck — are faithfully depicted in the Roman veristic tradition. The circular legend runs along the full periphery of the coin, framing the portrait in the field. The flan shows the typical irregular fabric of hand-struck silver coinage of the period.
