| Obverse description | Bare head of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with characteristic aged features including a prominent nose and short cropped hair with a laurel wreath. The bust is draped at the shoulder, rendered in the realistic veristic portrait style typical of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian Roman coinage. A partial Latin legend surrounds the portrait, with dotted border visible along the right rim. The die work reflects the somewhat variable engraving quality associated with the transitional issues struck during Galba's brief reign. |
