Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, portrayed with characteristically aged and stern features including a prominent jaw and short beard, consistent with his known portraiture. The encircling Latin legend reads SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG TR P, distributed around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border. The bust is rendered in high relief in the hammered tradition of early Imperial Roman coinage, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder.
