Reverse description Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, stands facing left in the field, helmeted and clad in a long chiton and aegis. She holds an upright spear in her left hand and rests her right hand at her side, with a large rectangular shield set vertically at her feet to the left. The figure is rendered in a dignified, static pose characteristic of Domitianic Minerva types. The encircling Latin legend TR POT COS VIIII P P is distributed around the periphery, identifying Domitian's tribunician power, ninth consulship, and title of Father of the Fatherland.
