Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in fine high relief with characteristic Flavian portraiture. The emperor's features are depicted with individualized realism, including a prominent nose and strong jaw. A laurel wreath, symbol of imperial and military authority, encircles the head. The surrounding field bears the Imperial titulature legend in Latin distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin's hammered fabric results in a slightly irregular, though well-centered, flan.
