| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, with short curling hair rendered in fine detail, the neck draped. The effigy displays the characteristic Flavian portrait style with a strong jaw and prominent brow. The circular legend IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG PONT runs around the periphery in Latin capitals, broken by the bust. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammered Roman silver coinage of the Flavian period. |
