Reverse description Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, depicted standing left in a dignified martial pose, clad in flowing drapery with aegis, holding an upright spear in her right hand. The figure is rendered in the classicising Flavian style, occupying the full height of the field. The encircling reverse legend is distributed around the goddess in two registers. The strike is moderately even with some softness at the periphery typical of hammered Roman silver coinage.
Reverse script Latin
Reverse lettering IMP XXII COS XVII CENS P P P
(Translation: Imperator Secundum Vicesimum, Consul Septimum Decimum, Censor Perpetuus, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator) for the 22nd time, consul for the 17th time, censor for life, father of the nation.)
