Reverse description Standing figure of Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, depicted in full front-facing pose with head turned slightly to the right. She raises a thunderbolt in her right hand and holds a large round shield in her left, with a owl at her feet consistent with her divine attributes as patron deity of Domitian. The goddess is clad in a long chiton and wears a crested helmet, rendered in the confident linear style characteristic of Flavian reverse types. The surrounding Latin legend is distributed around the field, encircling the central figure.
