Reverse description Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, standing left in full figure, helmeted and clad in long robes, raising a thunderbolt aloft in her right hand and holding an upright spear in her left. A large round shield rests against her side at lower left. The goddess is depicted in a commanding, martial pose characteristic of Domitian's favoured reverse type. The encircling legend in Latin capitals records the emperor's imperial acclamation, consulship, censorship, and the title Pater Patriae.
