Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, with aegis or paludamentum visible at the shoulder, rendered in the confident portraiture style of the Flavian period. The emperor's facial features are boldly modelled, with a pronounced brow and strong jawline characteristic of official Domitianic coinage. The legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, partially off-flan on this irregularly shaped planchet. The portrait occupies the majority of the obverse field, with the laureate wreath clearly delineated in the die work.
