| Reverse description | Minerva, helmeted and draped, standing right atop a rostral column decorated with the rams of captured warships, brandishing a spear in her right hand and bearing a round shield on her left arm. An owl, the sacred bird of Minerva, perches to the right at the base of the column. This reverse type belongs to the so-called Minerva series, a hallmark of Domitianic coinage reflecting the emperor's personal devotion to the goddess. The legend is disposed around the periphery in two registers. |
