Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, depicted with a strong, mature portrait in high relief characteristic of Flavian die engraving. The emperor wears a laurel wreath, with the aegis faintly visible at the truncation of the bust. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VIII, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait conveys the authoritative imperial style of the Rome Mint workshops under Domitian, with carefully rendered facial features and close-cropped hair beneath the wreath.
