Reverse description Standing figure of Minerva, the goddess depicted nude or lightly draped, facing left in a combative stance. She raises her right arm, brandishing a spear or javelin overhead, while her left arm holds a round shield resting on the ground beside her. She wears a crested Corinthian helmet. The legend is distributed in the field around the figure, with IMP XIIII COS XI to the left and CENS P P P to the right. This reverse type is characteristic of Domitian's coinage, for whom Minerva served as a personal divine patron.
Reverse script Latin
Reverse lettering IMP XIIII COS XII CENS P P P
(Translation: Imperator Quartum Decimum, Consul Duodecimus, Censor Perpetuus, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator) for the 14th time, consul for the twelfth time, censor for life, father of the nation.)
