Reverse description A herald, clad in military dress and advancing to the left, occupies the central field. The figure carries a large round shield on the left arm and holds a caduceus or herald's wand in the right hand, attributes associated with the proclamation of the Secular Games. The composition is vigorous and dynamic, consistent with the high-relief engraving style of the Rome mint under Domitian. The encircling legend, divided around the figure, references the emperor's fourteenth consulship and his role as organiser of the Ludi Saeculares of AD 88.
