Reverse description Minerva, helmeted and draped, stands facing left in a martial pose, holding an upright spear in her right hand and bearing a round shield on her left arm. The goddess, Domitian's favored divine patron, is rendered in the classical style typical of the Rome mint under the Flavians. The abbreviated consular legend COS XIII appears to the left of the figure in the field, referencing Domitian's thirteenth consulship. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with a flat, unadorned exergue.
