| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in the Flavian imperial portrait style with characteristic curly hair and strong facial features. The effigy is depicted with a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. The encircling legend runs along the outer rim of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking of the hammered flan. The portrait occupies the central field in high relief, typical of early Domitianic coinage struck at the Rome mint during his first year as emperor. |

| Reverse description | A curule chair (sella curulis) rendered frontally and depicted in three-quarter perspective, draped with a decorative cloth covering its seat and sides, set within a semicircular architectural frame surmounted by three crescent-shaped ornaments. The elaborate throne is shown with ornate legs and a cushioned seat, symbolizing Domitian's consular authority. The surrounding legend references his consular and honorific titles and is distributed around the outer field of the flan. The composition is characteristic of the reverses employed on Flavian denarii celebrating magisterial and senatorial office. |
