Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Domitian facing right, portrayed as a young prince with strong Flavian features. The effigy shows the subject in right profile with a laurel wreath crowning the head and drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The surrounding legend, partially worn, reads CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS, identifying him as Caesar and son of the reigning Augustus. The flan is irregular and slightly broad, consistent with Flavian-era hammered silver coinage. The portrait reflects the official dynastic style of the Roman mint under Vespasian.
