| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine late-Republican style with elaborately striated hair adorned with a laurel wreath and decorative pellets. A tripod or lituus symbol appears in the lower left field. The portrait is executed with considerable artistic refinement, the facial features displaying a classically idealized quality characteristic of the moneyer series of the late Roman Republic. The design is framed by a plain inner border with a beaded outer border. |
