| Obverse description | Helmeted bust of Roma facing right, depicted in high relief with a winged helmet adorned with a griffin crest, the cheekpieces of the helmet clearly articulated. The hair falls in tight curls beneath the helmet rim, and a necklace of beads is visible at the neck. A circular shield device appears in the left field, and the coin is bordered by a neat ring of beads (dentilation). The portrait is rendered in the confident, vigorous style characteristic of late Roman Republican coinage. |

| Reverse description | Winged Victoria driving a biga at full gallop to the right, her wings prominently spread behind her as she leans forward holding the reins taut with both hands. The two horses are rendered in energetic motion with forelegs raised, conveying great dynamism. In the exergue appears the moneyer's legend C•PVLCHER in incuse Latin characters, identifying the issuing magistrate Gaius Claudius Pulcher. The composition fills the flan with confident Republican die-cutting, the scene framed by an irregular, slightly serrated border. |
