Reverse description The reverse depicts the emblems of the augurate — a jug (urceus) at left and a lituus (augural staff) at right — arranged prominently in the field as symbols of priestly office and divine sanction. Below the emblems appears the moneyer's name, serving as the mintmaster's mark. The composition is spare and hieratic, emphasising the religious authority invoked by Cassius and his ally Lentulus Spinther. The design is enclosed within a border of dots.
