| Reverse description | A wreath of oak leaves (corona civica), tied at the base with a ribbon, encloses the reverse inscription arranged in four lines across the central field. Within the wreath the legend reads S P Q R / P P / OB C S, with a single letter O visible at the top of the wreath exterior. The oak wreath motif, awarded ob cives servatos (for saving citizens), was a prestigious military and civic honour prominently associated with Augustus and his successors. The surrounding border features a beaded inner rim. The design is bold and uncluttered, emphasizing the honorific inscription. |
