| Obverse description | Bare, laureate head of Augustus facing left, rendered in fine classical style with naturalistic hair detailed with individual strands beneath the wreath. The legend CAESAR AVGVSTVS is disposed around the portrait, reading from lower left to upper right. A beaded border runs along the coin's inner rim. Note: this specimen bears a later piercing at the right edge, consistent with ancient or post-antique use as a pendant. |
