Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing left, depicted in a naturalistic Hellenistic style with finely rendered hair swept forward and tied with a wreath of laurel or oak leaves. The portrait is executed with characteristic Augustan idealism, conveying both authority and divine favour. The legend CAESARI AVGVSTO arcs around the field, distributed to either side of the bust. The coin's flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hand-struck Roman silver of this period. The portrait displays crisp, high-relief engraving consistent with the finest dies of the Colonia Patricia mint.
