Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine detail with naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Augustan coinage. The emperor's hair falls in short, neatly arranged locks across the forehead and temples. The legend encircles the field, reading AVGVSTVS to the right and TR POT to the left, referencing Augustus's tribunician power. The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, with the neck truncation visible at the lower edge. The coin displays a well-centered strike with good relief.
