Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Augustus facing right, depicted in a restrained, classicising style characteristic of early imperial portraiture, set at the centre of a circular clipeus (round shield). The shield is enclosed within a prominent laurel wreath that frames the entire field. An encircling Latin legend runs between the wreath and the coin's irregular edge. The portrait presents the emperor with short, neatly combed hair and a youthful, idealised physiognomy.

Reverse description A rectangular cippus (inscribed stone pillar or boundary marker) occupies the centre of the field, depicted in three-quarter perspective with a moulded base and capital, rendered in fine relief. The face of the cippus bears a four-line dedicatory inscription reading IMP / CAES / AVGV / COMM / CONS in clear Latin capitals. The surrounding circular legend, reading clockwise, names the moneyer Lucius Mescinius Rufus in his capacity as Triumvir Monetalis, with the senatorial authorisation S C flanking the monument.
