| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine portraiture style with naturalistic detail; the emperor's characteristic facial features — strong jaw, short cropped hair, and slightly furrowed brow — are rendered with characteristic Augustan classicism. The legend encircles the portrait in the field, reading AVGVSTVS DIVI F, identifying him as Augustus, Son of the Divine (Julius Caesar).
