Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized classicizing style characteristic of Augustan court portraiture. The emperor's hair is depicted with finely modeled, layered locks swept forward over the brow in the characteristic Augustan capillary arrangement. The bust is truncated at the neck without drapery. A dotted border frames the design, and the circumferential Latin legend reads AVGVSTVS DIVI F, distributed across the upper and lower field.

Reverse description A wild boar strides vigorously to the right in high relief, its bristled crest clearly rendered along the spine and its legs shown in dynamic movement. Beneath the boar, a prostrate figure or trophy element is visible, alluding to a military conquest. The reverse type is thought to reference Augustus's Cantabrian campaigns in Hispania. The legend IMP X is inscribed in the lower exergual area in large, bold Latin capitals separated by a central dot, commemorating Augustus's tenth imperatorial acclamation.
